Jamaica Blue Mountain, Flamstead Estate
Renowned throughout the world for it's incomparable standard of quality, Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee must meet stringent regulations to qualify for export. Considered one of the best coffees in the world and nicknamed the 'Champagne of Coffees' Jamaica Blue Mountain is famous for its smooth, creamy cup and quintessential notes of chocolate and florals.
Flamstead Estate was founded by Ambassador Carlyle Dunkley in 1982, although this venerable estate has been growing coffee since 1764. Located at 1171 meters above sea level in St Andrews Parish, this is a superb family owned artisanal coffee.
Taste Profile: Characterised by rich dark chocolate, orange, butterscotch, and spicy florals. Smooth and rich, this well-balanced Blue Mountain coffee is perfect for Christmas and pairs well with anything.
An important and integral part of coffee’s history, Yemen is the origin of the term ‘Coffea Arabica’ and was the first country in the world to grow coffee commercially all the way back in the 1300’s. Today, most of the coffee grown in Yemen consists of ancient heirloom varietals of Arabica coffee that are not grown anywhere else in the world, creating coffees that are very unique in taste profile.
Produced in the Bani Ismail district of Sana’a, at an altitude of 2000 to 2500 metres, Ismaili beans are tiny and rounded, resembling split peas. The cup profile of Ismaili coffee is elegant - soft and gentle, but still exceptionally complex with many sweet and fruity layers.
Taste Profile: A smooth, silky body with delicate notes of spices and caramel, strawberry, brown sugar, and sweet wine. A light, bright acidity with overtones of chocolate and dried berries make a perfect after-dinner coffee.
Hawaiian coffee is revered for its outstanding quality and bold flavour profile, and this Mokka coffee from Maui island is no exception. Kaanapali Estate is located in the western side of the Island of Maui, often said to be the most beautiful of the Hawaiian Islands. The farm is the only coffee farm on the Island of Maui, as well as one of the only farms in the world growing the Mokka variety commercially. Mokka coffee is characterized by its very small and almost perfectly round-shaped coffee beans, which offer an intensely sweet and rich flavour.
Taste Profile: Distinctly sweet, with notes of chocolate, dried fruit, and cinnamon. Bright acidity, a touch of citrus, and a lingering finish of hazelnuts bring a harmonious balance to this rich and festive coffee.
