Kona - K'au - Maui Mokka

Featuring the very finest coffees from the tropical Hawaiian Islands: Kona (Cancino Estate), K’au (Coffee Mill) and Maui Mokka (Kaanapali Estate).

Hawaii Kona, Cancino Estate:

The Kona region on the big island of Hawaii is home to a superb combination of climatic factors making for an ideal coffee growing micro climate characterized by rich volcanic soil, an ideal elevation of about 300-500 metres and a steady, gentle climate.

Cancino estate Kona coffee is grown on a small private estate in the Kona District at an altitude of 480 metres. Mr. Raynoldo Cancino is an immigrant from very humble beginnings in Mexico. About 20 years ago he came to Kona to work as a coffee picker and through his intelligence and hard work was able to buy a small plot of land in the slopes of Mauna Loa where he could produce his own coffee. The whole family is now involved in the Cancino estate business.

This Kona Extra Fancy coffee really is a quintessential Kona -- smooth, medium body with hints of spices, a slightly tangy citrus flavour and finished with a lovely milk chocolate after taste.

Hawaii Ka'u Coffee Mill:

Back in the late 1800s, a Kona newspaper anticipated that Ka‘u coffee would give the famed Kona a run for its money. Now, more than 100 years later, it appears the prediction has come true, with Ka‘u coffee topping all Hawaiian coffees in both local and international cupping and tasting competitions.

In 2012 Ka’u coffee Mill was awarded the Hawaii Coffee Associations Certificate of Excellence for its coffee. Coffee Mill’s Ka’u coffee is bright, with a rich yet sweet acidity, distinct floral notes, and overtones of plum, tangerines and chocolate.

Mauai Mokka:

Kaanapali Estate is located in the western side of the Island of Maui, often said to be the most beautiful of the Hawaiian Islands. The farm is originally a part of the Pioneer Mill sugar plantation and is the only coffee farm on the Island of Maui, as well as the only farm in the world growing the Mokka coffee variety commercially. Mokka coffee is characterized by its very small and almost perfectly round-shaped coffee beans.

Maui Mokka is an intensely sweet coffee, with citrus acidity and a floral aroma.
